NEW RESOLUTION TO RETAIN BUFFER ON THE ROW

We met with Con Edison yesterday and walked the ROW. They have decided to allow a twenty foot buffer to go untouched until 2032, at which point they will remove 7 ft every 3 treatment cycles with total removal by 2052. Which gives us twenty years to change the policy;-)
We feel very optimistic about this progress. Until now Con Edison has insisted that the area beginning at the ROW service road/ Ridge Road and extends to the bottom of Old Farm Lane as a ROW, yesterday it was called a buffer. We are closer than we have ever been, but we are not done. Each of us should be empowered to stand our ground, protect our property rights and our pursuit of happiness. We are still dedicated to rehabilitating Sprain Road, Secor Glen, and other areas that are suffering from the impacts of the clear cutting. As well as continued pressure for mitigation plantings on private property. We await response to the petition that was sent on December 7th. So we all carry on....
Keep Greenburgh Green
